I am always looking for more than one way to use a die. I am experimenting with this one too. I have used this to make several banners for my classroom. The four inch letters look nice.
I also punched out one pennant for each student on card stock. We turned them upside down and they became a clown type hat. The students had a great time decorating them.

I have used this die with card, paper and fabric and it's great to make great long strings of pennants for a garden party, summer wedding or strung up in a barn to decorate a rustic themed party or celebration.
I find an iron on backing (like you'd use for applique work) works well with thinner cottons to make more sturdy and to reduce any loose threads at the cut edges over time. I usually stitch the front and backs of my pennants too.

This has matching designs with cake slice, cupcake and cards too. The scallop on the pennant gives a cuteness to it.
I cut plastic table cover, used curling ribbons to attach (color staples) together. It's good for if you are on a budget.
I want to try with cloth but have not yet. Soon I'll be getting my alphabets and I can incoorperate that with this pennant. So excited!!!
